Factory reset on Polycom VVX
You might be required to perform a factory reset on your Polycom VVX phone. This is sometimes necessary to return the phone to its default factory settings, which then allows it to pull down the correct configuration from the network and re-establish its online status. The screenshots shown below are taken from a VVX400, but the principle is the same, regardless of which VVX model handset you have.
1. Plug in phone

As soon as the
screen shows the startup sequence, press the ‘Cancel’ key and press and hold
keys 1, 3 and 5 until the following screen appears, then let go of 1, 3 and 5:
3. Enter the MAC address (shown on a sticker on the underside of the handset. These typically begin with either 64167F… or 0004F…). Change between numbers and letters by using the button marked ‘1->Aa’.) and press OK. This will produce the message “Incorrect Password”. Press and hold keys 1, 3 and 5 until the following screen appears (note the slight difference in wording!
4. Enter the MAC address of the handset once more.
5. This will cause the phone to reboot completely and then pull down its initial configuration settings from the network.
