How to Reset and Factory Reset Your DECT Base Station and Handset

How to Reset and Factory Reset Your DECT Base Station and Handset

If you're experiencing issues with your DECT handset, follow these steps to reset the base station and perform a factory reset to restore functionality.

Step 1: Reset the Base Station

1. **Power off the Base Station:** Locate the base station (the box with three green LEDs). Turn off the mains power and leave it off for five minutes.
2. **Turn the Power Back On:** After five minutes, switch the mains power back on and check if this resolves the issue.

Step 2: Perform a Factory Reset

If the issue persists, proceed with a factory reset:

1. **Power Off the Base Station Again:** Switch off the mains power and wait for one minute.
2. **Press and Hold the Reset Button:** Find the button on the front of the base station (marked with a symbol resembling a Wi-Fi icon). Press and hold this button.
3. **Power On While Holding the Button:** While holding the button, switch the mains power back on. Keep holding the button until all three LEDs light up. This will happen faster than usual.
4. **Release the Button:** Once all three LEDs are lit, release the button and allow the base station to reset. This process may take several minutes.
You may see the top and middle LEDs turn off and on multiple times during the reset.
5. **Wait for 10 Minutes:** After the reset is complete, switch off the mains power again, wait for one minute, and switch it back on. You don’t need to press any buttons this time.

Step 3: Check Handset Registration

After the reset, the handset should automatically re-register with the base station. You can confirm this by checking if the top LED on the base is lit and by viewing the screen of each handset.

Step 4: Manually Re-register Handset (if necessary)

If your handset hasn't re-registered, follow these steps to manually register it:

1. **Activate Registration Mode on the Base:** Press and hold the button on the front of the base station for about three seconds, until the top LED starts flashing.
2. **Register Handset:** On your handset, go to the menu and navigate to **Registrations > Register Handset > OK**. The handset will search for the base station.
3. **Enter the PIN:** If prompted, enter the PIN (default is 0000) and press OK. The handset will then register to the base station.

Once the process is complete, your DECT handset should be fully operational base.
